After a mission that killed all of his crew, Sergeant Kellen Hail washes up on the shore of Eastern Maryland in his rubber life raft after days of bobbing in the open sea.
The small farm where Kellen finds himself recovering is a welcome shelter to the turmoil of his past life. The quiet rural life of this large homeschool family is a balm to his bleeding heart. After just a few days, he finds he is able to begin putting such things as blackmail, abuse, and the horrors of war behind him.
However, when skeletons from his past threaten to destroy his perfect little world, he is forced to make tough decisions. He isn't sure what to do when he inadvertently brings his greatest enemy to the front door of this great family.

Against the Odds
(Working Title)
The Against the Odds series tells about a unique family who finds themselves battling enemies they aren't sure how to overcome.
Terrance and Kellen are adopted brothers, but feel as though the bond they share goes much deeper than blood. Without each other, life may have proven too difficult for either of them to handle. Meanwhile, as they struggle together, Kellen's biological sister, Jenna, faces off against her trials alone.
Follow the story of each character as they change from victims to victors - adults who are confident in themselves and aren't afraid of adversity.

'Too much, too soon' is what Jenna keeps telling herself considering the fact that she is dead and she's someone else now. It might be like some kind of thriller fantasy if she wasn't living it...
That's what happens when you're in the right place at the right time. Or was it the the wrong place at the wrong time? To protect herself, the government faked her death and now she finds herself living a life of someone else - a life she wishes was her own.
Especially when she gets a new handler who seems to take an interest in more than ensuring the safety of her life. Why couldn't this have been her life to start with?
